Andeer Granite: complete guide

History and origin

It takes its name from the village of Andeer, in the canton of Graubünden, where this stone has been quarried and worked for a long time. It is used in Switzerland and neighbouring countries for floors, cladding, fountains, stairs and furnishings. Its green tone sets it apart from the more common grey granites. Look and veining

The background is grey with a green tinge, crossed by light bands and veins due to its gneissic structure. The pattern varies with the cutting direction: in one direction it is more veined, in the other more clouded. Polished, it accentuates the green; brushed or flamed, it offers a natural, soft look.
