Black Cosmic Granite: the complete guide
Black Cosmic Granite is a black granite crossed by light flows and golden hues, with a very dramatic pattern. It is chosen for tops and walls that need to catch the eye while remaining as durable as a granite.
History and origin
It is an imported material, widely available on the international market among exotic granites with dynamic patterns. These granites, often of metamorphic origin, show veins and swirls that bring them visually close to marbles. Look and veining
On the deep black background, wavy white and grey veins develop, with gold or rust highlights. The movement changes greatly from slab to slab, so the choice of slabs is decisive. Polished, it offers maximum contrast; brushed or leathered, it becomes softer and matt.

Care and maintenance
A neutral detergent and a microfibre cloth to avoid leaving smears on polished black. A light protector helps keep the colour of the light veins even.

Is Black Cosmic marble or granite?
It is sold as granite: despite veining similar to that of a marble, it is a hard siliceous stone resistant to household acids.
How do I choose the slabs?
Since the pattern is very variable, it is worth seeing photos of each slab and, for islands, planning the joints to follow the veining.
Does it scratch easily?
No, its hardness is high. The polish can only dull with aggressive abrasives or improper use.
