Beymelek: complete guide
Beymelek is a Turkish commercial marble with a compact beige background and a fine pattern. It is chosen as a neutral, versatile stone for floors and cladding.
History and origin
It is a compact limestone quarried in the south of Turkey and sold as beige marble. Turkey is today one of the world's leading producers of limestones and beige marbles. Beymelek is widely available in slabs, tiles and bespoke formats. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is light or medium beige, with fine veins and small speckles distributed fairly evenly. There may be variations in tone between lots, from pinkish beige to a cooler beige. Polishing makes it elegant and reflective; antiqued and tumbled finishes give it an aged look.

Clean with neutral products, no vinegar or limescale removers. Protect with an impregnator, especially antiqued finishes, which have greater surface porosity. Renew the treatment every one or two years.
