Tepexi Fiorito: complete guide
Tepexi Fiorito is a beige Mexican marble with a characteristic pattern of patches and flower-like figures. It is chosen for warm, bright rooms with a natural, lively appearance.
History and origin
The name recalls Tepexi, an area in the state of Puebla known for quarrying beige marbles and limestones. Materials from this area are found mainly on the American market and are also exported to Europe. Shade and pattern depend on the quarry bed. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is beige or cream, enlivened by patches, clouds and small lighter or darker veins that create the flowery effect. Variation between slabs is marked and must be taken into account during installation. Polished, it appears more contrasted; honed or brushed, it becomes more uniform and rustic.

Ideal for interior floors, cladding, bathrooms and stairs. It is not recommended for heavily used kitchen worktops or for exteriors in areas with frost. It also lends itself well to mosaics and small formats that show off the pattern.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral products, avoiding acids and aggressive degreasers. Apply an impregnator to reduce absorption, especially in the bathroom. Always wipe up coloured liquids.
Pairings
- Terracotta and handmade ceramics
- Teak or iroko

FAQ
Is the pattern uniform across slabs?
No, the flowery figure varies a great deal: for large surfaces it is best to select the slabs or mix them during installation for a balanced effect.
Can it be used in a shower?
Yes, with a good impregnator and neutral detergents; avoid acidic limescale removers, which dull the surface.
Polished or honed?
Polished enhances the pattern; honed is more practical for floors and gives a more natural look.
