Calacatta Carrara marble: the complete guide
Calacatta Carrara has the white background of the Calacattas and wide, bold grey veins. A Carrara classic for those who want an important white, more graphic than Bianco C.
History and origin
It is quarried in the Carrara marble basin, where Calacatta beds stand out for a whiter background and wider veining than common Bianco Carrara. Calacattas have always been among the most requested marbles for luxury architecture. It is one of Marmi di Carrara's exclusive materials, selected at the quarry.
Look and veining
A white background with light to medium grey veins, wide and often interwoven, distributed irregularly. Compared with Calacatta Gold there are almost no golden tones: the result is a fresher, more contemporary white. Medium to large blocks allow good-sized slabs.
