Ivory Chiffon Granite: complete guide
Ivory Chiffon is an ivory-coloured commercial granite, speckled with small grey and burgundy crystals. It is chosen when looking for a light, warm stone, softer than cool whites.
History and origin
It is an Indian material, related to the light garnet-bearing gneisses typical of southern India. It has established itself on the international market as a warm variant of the white granites, especially for classic or rustic-style kitchens. The background tone can vary from cream to light beige. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is ivory or cream, with grey, black and burgundy specks distributed fairly evenly and some faint undulations. Compared with other Indian granites the pattern is calm, but the density of the specks changes between batches. Polishing warms the tones; honing makes them more powdery and discreet.

FAQ
What is the difference from Kashmir White?
Ivory Chiffon has a warmer, cream background, while Kashmir White is a cooler white-grey. Both have garnet specks and require an impregnating sealer.
Is it suitable for a classic kitchen?
Yes, its ivory tones go well with wooden cabinet doors, cream lacquers and brass details; it resists the heat of pans and acids.
Can it turn yellow?
The stone itself is stable; any yellow marks usually come from absorbed substances. A good impregnating sealer and cleaning with neutral products prevent the problem.
