History and origin
Kuru, in western Finland, is a locality known in the stone industry for its granites. The black version belongs to the dark igneous rocks that the market calls black granites. Materials like this are used in Europe for monuments, cladding, tops and building work. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
It has a uniform black background and a fine grain, almost without pattern. Small differences in tone or a few light crystals may appear between different slabs. Polishing produces a deep black; honing a satin, modern look.

Recommended uses
It lends itself to kitchen worktops, washbasins, tables, cladding, stairs and memorial work. Outdoors it is suitable for cladding and thresholds. For large polished floors maintenance must be considered, because black shows dust and marks.
Care and maintenance
Neutral detergent and a microfibre cloth to maintain the shine. Avoid repeated use of aggressive limescale removers and waxy products.

Is there also a grey Kuru?
Yes, grey granites also come from the same area; Kuru Black is a distinct variety, dark and uniform.
Is it suitable for a dining table?
Yes, it withstands everyday heat and scratches. A satin finish hides fingerprints better.
