Granito Magma Black
Guide

Magma Black Granite: the complete guide

Magma Black Granite is a dark granite with a black-graphite background, with movement and shading that bring its surface to life. It is chosen for contemporary projects that want a textured black, less flat than absolute blacks.

History and origin

It is an imported granite available on the international market, appreciated in interiors with a minimalist and industrial feel. The trade name recalls the magmatic origin typical of granites and related rocks. As with all dark, dynamic granites, its appearance should be assessed on the batch actually available. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is black or anthracite grey, with lighter grey or burnished veins and areas irregularly distributed. The intensity and amount of movement vary from slab to slab. Polishing intensifies the black, while brushed or leathered finishes make it more tactile and matt.

FAQ

How does it differ from an absolute black?

Absolute blacks are uniform and almost patternless; Magma Black has movement and shading that give it a more natural, less flat appearance.

Polished or matt?

Polished is more elegant and easy to clean, but shows fingerprints and smears; brushed or leathered is more practical and gives a natural look.

Is it suitable outdoors?

Yes, it resists frost; in full sun, however, black gets very hot, so for areas walked on barefoot it is worth considering lighter stones.
