History and origin

It comes from Ukraine, a country with a wide range of dark igneous rocks exported to the European market. Stones of this type are used for tops, cladding, memorial work and architectural elements. The trade name recalls the glints of the crystals on the dark background. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is dark, from anthracite grey to black, with larger crystals that catch the light. The density and size of the crystals vary between blocks, making each slab slightly different. Polishing is the finish that best enhances the glints; rough finishes tone them down.

Recommended uses

Ideal for kitchen worktops, counters, washbasins, cladding and monuments. Outdoors it is used for cladding and thresholds. For outdoor paving, the polished finish, which is the most striking, is not suitable for safety reasons.

Care and maintenance

Clean with a neutral detergent and dry, so as not to leave limescale marks on the dark background. Use only protectors that do not alter the colour.
