History and origin

It takes its name from the Wombeyan area in south-eastern Australia, known for its marble outcrops. It is a material used mainly on the Australian market and rarely found in European catalogues. Look and veining

The background is light or medium grey, with veins and clouds of darker grey and sometimes almost white areas. Variation between slabs can be considerable. Polishing intensifies the contrast; honed and brushed finishes give a softer, more contemporary grey.

Recommended uses

Suitable for floors, cladding, bathrooms, stairs and furnishings. In the kitchen it should be used with care because of its sensitivity to acids. For exteriors it is assessed according to the climate and with non-polished finishes.

Care and maintenance

Clean with a neutral detergent, no limescale removers or vinegar. A stain-proofing treatment helps protect tops and floors. Dull marks can be corrected by re-polishing.
