Arabescato Corchia
Guide

Arabescato Corchia marble: the complete guide

Arabescato Corchia is an arabescato from the Apuan Alps with a white background and interwoven grey veins. Elegant and dynamic, it is one of the most requested veined whites for bathrooms and walls.

History and origin

It is quarried on Monte Corchia, on the Versilia side of the Apuan Alps, between Levigliani and Stazzema: a mountain also known for its karst caves. Quarrying in the area is ancient and Arabescato blocks are appreciated worldwide for their bold pattern. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

A white background with light to dark grey veins that interweave into arabesques and brecciated areas. The contrast is sharp but never gloomy; there are more classic grades with regular veining and more lively ones. The slabs lend themselves to book-matching.

Recommended uses

Bathroom and shower cladding, book-matched walls, kitchen tops and splashbacks, tables, fireplaces, prestigious floors. The intense pattern works best on large surfaces paired with plain elements.

Care and maintenance

Clean with water and pH-neutral detergents, drying with a soft cloth; avoid acids, bleach and abrasive products. A water- and oil-repellent treatment after installation reduces staining and should be renewed periodically in busy areas. Professional honing and polishing remove scratches and dullness.

Pairings

  • With matt black and brass for a dramatic bathroom.
  • With light oak and white walls for a bright effect.
  • With Nero Marquina in thresholds and inserts.
