Bursa Beige: complete guide
Bursa Beige is a compact Turkish limestone, sold as marble, with a light, uniform beige colour. It is chosen to create warm, bright spaces with a calm pattern.
History and origin
It takes its name from the Bursa region in north-western Turkey, an area with several quarries of polishable beige limestone. Thanks to its neutral colour and good availability it is widespread on the international market for floors and cladding. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is light beige, tending towards cream, with a fine pattern and little veining, sometimes with small fossils or speckles. Differences between slabs are moderate, but supply from a single batch is always advisable. Polished, it takes on a warm, bright tone; honed or antiqued, it becomes more rustic.

Recommended uses
Suitable for interior floors, cladding, bathrooms, stairs and window sills. It can be used outdoors in mild climates, with non-polished finishes and a water-repellent treatment. Not well suited to kitchen worktops or areas subject to frost.
Care and maintenance
Clean with neutral detergents, avoiding acidic or strongly alkaline products. A stain-repellent impregnating sealer is important because light limestones can absorb oils and coloured liquids. Polished finishes are maintained with specific waxes.
