History and origin
It comes from Mexico and takes its name from the Tepexi area, where warm-toned stones are quarried. It has long been present on the American market and is less widespread in Europe. It is used mainly for floors and cladding in residential and hotel settings. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is beige with golden or honey hues, crossed by lighter or darker veins and clouding. Pattern and tone vary between slabs, sometimes markedly. Polishing enhances the golden highlights; brushing gives a more rustic, warm look.
