Iddefjord Granite: complete guide
Iddefjord is a medium to fine-grained light grey Norwegian granite with pinkish hues. It is chosen for its sobriety and excellent performance outdoors.
History and origin
The name comes from the Iddefjord, the fjord on the border between Norway and Sweden, an area with a long history of granite quarrying. It is a traditional material of Nordic construction, used for kerbs, paving, steps and walls. The colour can tend more towards grey or more towards pink depending on the block. Look and veining
The background is light grey with pinkish or whitish feldspars and small dark minerals, evenly distributed. Variability between slabs is moderate. Polished, it looks darker and pinker; flamed or brushed, it becomes a light, natural grey.
