Rosso Real Granite: complete guide

History and origin

It is one of the red granites exported from Brazil and used in architecture for cladding, paving and street furniture. The trade name recalls the material's vivid shade. It is available mainly in slabs and bespoke pieces. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The intense red background is broken up by black and grey crystals, with a clearly visible medium-coarse grain. The pattern is regular, but the intensity of the red can vary between lots, from rust red to bright red. Polishing emphasises the contrast, while flamed and bush-hammered finishes soften the colour.

Recommended uses

It is used for outdoor paving, façades, steps, thresholds, monuments and worktops. Indoors it is at its best as an accent element: a top, a plinth, a staircase. On very large surfaces it is advisable to assess the effect first with sample slabs.

Care and maintenance

Clean with neutral detergents; no oily waxes, which can yellow. Outdoors, annual washing and a water repellent on porous surfaces keep the colour vivid. Avoid abrasives on polished surfaces.
