Verde Kolmården: complete guide

Verde Kolmården is a green Swedish marble, rich in serpentine, with bands and veins in various shades of green. It is chosen for its rare colour and for prestigious decorative use.

History and origin

It comes from the Kolmården area in south-eastern Sweden, where a serpentine green marble has been quarried for centuries. It is a historic material of Scandinavian architecture, used in the interiors of public buildings and residences. Today availability is limited. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background alternates light green, olive green and dark green, with wavy veins and bands and lighter spots. Variability between slabs is marked, so visual selection is essential. Polishing enhances the shades of green and the depth of the pattern.
