History and origin
Saxony is one of the German regions with the longest tradition of building stones, and granite from the Mittweida area is known locally for building and paving. Materials of this type have been used for plinths, stairs, kerbs and roadworks. Today it is also offered in slabs and bespoke pieces. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
It has an even grey background, dotted with small dark crystals. The fine grain gives a uniform appearance even over large surfaces, with limited variation between slabs. Rough finishes give a lighter, matt grey; polishing a deeper tone.

Suitable for public and private paving, stairs, thresholds, cladding and tops. Its fine grain makes it interesting for work with sharp edges and details. It has no particular limitations, other than choosing non-slip finishes for exteriors.
Care and maintenance
Routine cleaning with water and neutral soap. Outdoors, a water repellent slows the formation of moss and smog stains.
