History and origin
The name recalls Kajaani, in the Kainuu region of east-central Finland. Finnish grey granites are widespread on the European market for building, paving and monuments. Their frost resistance makes them suitable for outdoor works in the Nordic countries. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The grey background is formed by a medium grain with well-distributed light and dark crystals. The appearance is regular, with modest differences in tone between slabs. Flamed, it becomes lighter and rough; polished, it gains contrast.
