Nero Angola Granite: complete guide

Nero Angola is a fine-grained black stone from Angola. It is chosen for worktops, cladding and monuments that call for a deep black and a very compact material.

History and origin

Angola is among the African countries that export black stones commercially classed as granites, often gabbroic in nature. Nero Angola is valued on the international market for its dark tint and good polishability. It is used in construction, furnishings and memorial work. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is black with a fine grain and tiny grey glints, visible only close up. The appearance is fairly uniform, with slight differences in intensity between slabs. Polishing gives an intense, brilliant black, while matt finishes give a velvety anthracite.
