Marygold Granite: the complete guide

Marygold Granite is a golden yellow Indian granite with dense dark speckling. It combines a warm, bright colour with a regular pattern that is easy to match.

History and origin

India is one of the world's great granite producers, with yellow, black, green and multicoloured varieties exported worldwide. Marygold belongs to the family of golden granites, much in demand for kitchens and bathrooms. The trade name recalls the marigold flower, for its golden shade. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The golden yellow background is densely dotted with black and brown grains. The pattern is more regular than that of veined yellow granites, but the tone can vary between blocks. Polished, it is warm and glossy; matt finishes lighten it towards beige.

FAQ

How does it differ from Brazilian yellow granites?

Marygold has a speckled, uniform pattern, while many Brazilian yellows are veined and wavy. It is therefore easier to match over large surfaces.

Does it absorb stains?

Like many light granites it can absorb some oil and grease if untreated: an impregnating sealer applied after installation solves the problem.

What thicknesses are available?

Usually 2 and 3 cm slabs for worktops and thinner tiles for floors; formats and thicknesses are confirmed at the quotation stage.
