Nero Aswan Granite: complete guide
Nero Aswan is a dark Egyptian granite, with a black-grey background and small light crystals. It is chosen for floors, stairs and worktops that call for a dark, hard-wearing tone, often at an affordable cost.
History and origin
Egypt has a millennia-old tradition of granite working, linked above all to the Aswan region. Besides the famous pink granites, the Egyptian industry also offers dark varieties such as Nero Aswan, widespread in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Look and veining
The background is black-grey with speckling of light minerals that lightens its appearance. The pattern is granular and may vary in density from one block to another. Polished, it looks dark and brilliant; honed or flamed, it tends towards anthracite grey.

Clean with a neutral detergent and water; no abrasive products on polished surfaces. A stain-proofing impregnator is useful on kitchen worktops.
