Barracuda Granite: the complete guide

Barracuda is a dark grey Brazilian granite crossed by light veins. Its lively pattern makes it suitable for statement surfaces, such as islands and bathroom vanity tops.

History and origin

Brazil is known for its 'movement' granites, with wavy, veined patterns reminiscent of marbles. Barracuda belongs to this category of exotic materials exported in large-format slabs. It is used mainly in mid-to-high-end residential projects. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is dark grey, almost graphite, with white and light grey veins and undulations. The pattern is highly variable and can change even within the same slab. Polishing accentuates the contrast, while a brushed or leather finish gives a more textured effect.

Recommended uses

Ideal for kitchen worktops, islands, bathroom vanity tops and wall cladding. It can be used for floors and stairs, preferably with a non-polished finish. Outdoors it is suitable for cladding and outdoor worktops.

Care and maintenance

Neutral detergent for everyday use and a periodic stain-proofing treatment. The brushed finish requires somewhat more careful cleaning to remove dirt from the micro-texture. Avoid abrasive products on polished surfaces.

FAQ
