Bianco Neve: the complete guide
Bianco Neve is a white marble with a bright, very uniform tone and barely hinted veining. It is chosen when a clean, minimal white is wanted for bathrooms, floors and cladding.
History and origin
White marbles of a particularly light shade from various origins are sold on the international market under the name Bianco Neve. For this reason it is important to assess the individual batch, which may differ in grain, translucency and composition. Uniform white marbles are in demand above all in contemporary architecture, where the material must act as a backdrop. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is intense white, fine- or medium-grained, with rare grey veils or light clouding. Variations between slabs are limited, but a few isolated veins or small spots can always be found. Polishing gives luminosity and depth, while honed or brushed offers a matt white that is soft to the touch.

Recommended uses
Perfect for bathroom floors and cladding, walls, bathroom vanity tops, washbasins, interior stairs and furnishings. In the kitchen it is only possible if you accept the patina of use, because stains and marks are very visible on white. For exteriors in cold climates other materials are preferred.
Care and maintenance
On white, coffee, wine or oil stains show immediately: clean promptly and apply a quality stain-proofing impregnator. Use only neutral marble detergents. Avoid abrasive sponges and limescale removers.
Pairings
- bleached oak
- brushed nickel or matt black taps
- grey or black marbles for chequerboard contrasts
FAQ
Is Bianco Neve a dolomitic marble?
It depends on the origin of the batch: both calcitic and dolomitic marbles circulate under this name. The supply data sheet or a simple test will clarify it.
Does it stain easily?
Like any white marble, it absorbs coloured liquids if they are left for a long time. With a good stain-proofing treatment and prompt cleaning the problem is greatly reduced.
How does it differ from Statuario or Bianco Carrara?
Statuario and Bianco Carrara have more evident grey veining; Bianco Neve is chosen precisely for its more uniform, less veined white.
