Calacatta Campocecina marble: guide

History and origin

Campocecina is a mountain area above Carrara, overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia, with white marble and Calacatta quarries. Like all Apuan Calacattas it differs from Bianco Carrara in its lighter background and wider veining. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

A bright white background crossed by light to medium grey veins, wide and irregular. Depending on the bed the veining can be sparser or denser; slabs should be chosen according to the project.

Technical properties (indicative)

Recommended uses

Prestigious floors and cladding, bathrooms, kitchen and bathroom tops, stairs, fireplaces and bespoke furniture. It looks good in large formats and book-matched compositions.

Care and maintenance

Clean with water and pH-neutral detergents, drying with a soft cloth; avoid acids, bleach and abrasive products. A water- and oil-repellent treatment after installation reduces staining and should be renewed periodically in busy areas. Professional honing and polishing remove scratches and dullness.

Pairings

• With steel and black for contemporary interiors.
• With natural wood for a warm effect.
• With Bardiglio in borders and checkerboards.
