Coco Brown Granite: complete guide

Coco Brown Granite is a silicate stone in warm brown tones, with an even, speckled grain. It is chosen when a robust, practical worktop is needed that hides crumbs and small stains well.

History and origin

It is an imported commercial granite, widely available on the international market, mainly as polished slabs for worktops and cladding. As with many medium-grained brown stones, the name is a trade name and does not necessarily indicate the place of extraction. It is valued for its consistent results and understated look. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is medium brown, enlivened by darker crystals and light cream-coloured grains. The pattern is homogeneous, without marked veining, so differences between slabs are generally limited. Polishing intensifies the brown and the reflections of the crystals, while flaming or brushing makes it lighter and matt.

Recommended uses

It is recommended for kitchen worktops, counters, window sills, thresholds and floors, including in high-traffic areas. Outdoors, rough finishes such as flaming are preferred; polished on outdoor stairs and floors it can be slippery.

Care and maintenance

Lukewarm water and a neutral detergent are all that is needed for daily cleaning. A water- and oil-repellent applied after installation reduces the absorption of oils and should be renewed every few years depending on use.

Pairings

  • natural oak or light walnut cabinet doors
  • brushed brass handles and taps
  • cream or sand walls

FAQ

Is Coco Brown suitable for a heavily used kitchen?

Yes: its hardness and acid resistance make it suitable for worktops, and the speckled grain camouflages the signs of everyday use.

What is the difference from a brown marble?

Marble is calcareous, softer and sensitive to acids; Coco Brown granite is much harder and does not dull with lemon or vinegar.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes, it is frost-resistant; for outdoor floors and steps a flamed or brushed anti-slip finish is advisable.

How do I order it?

It is ordered on request: send us the dimensions or your project and we will prepare a quote, with photos of the available slabs before confirmation.
