Delirium Granite: complete guide

Delirium Granite is a Brazilian stone with a highly dynamic pattern, with waves and patches of colour on a light background. It is chosen for striking surfaces where the slab takes centre stage.

History and origin

It comes from Brazil, one of the main producers of exotic veined granites. In petrographic terms these materials are often migmatite-type metamorphic rocks, sold as granites. It is widely used for statement worktops and cladding. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

Wavy pink, burgundy and grey bands run across a beige-cream background, with crystals of different sizes. Variability between slabs is very high: each piece has a unique pattern, and book-matching can produce remarkable effects. Polishing intensifies colours and contrasts; matt finishes soften them.

Recommended uses

Ideal for kitchen islands, counters, bathroom tops and walls clad in large slabs. It is also used as flooring; given the frequent presence of natural micro-fissures, the slabs are often reinforced and resin-treated, and for exteriors the batch should be assessed case by case.

Care and maintenance

It requires the cleaning of an ordinary granite, with neutral detergents. As absorption can be a little higher than in fine-grained granites, a stain-repellent protector renewed periodically is recommended.

Pairings

  • matt white lacquered doors to give the pattern room
  • bleached ash
  • rose gold or bronze taps

FAQ

Why is Delirium often resin-treated?

Veined rocks of this type sometimes have natural micro-fissures: resin treatment of the slab consolidates them and makes the surface more uniform when polished.

Can I see the slab before buying?

Yes, and it is recommended: the pattern changes greatly from slab to slab, so we provide photos of the actual slabs or a viewing at our warehouse.

Is it suitable for a kitchen?

Yes, it is hard and resistant to acids; with a good protective treatment it stands up well to daily use.

How do I order it?

On request: tell us about your project and we will propose the available slabs with photos and a detailed quote.
