Ege Bordo: complete guide

Ege Bordo is a burgundy-red Turkish marble with clearly visible white veins. It is chosen for elegant spaces in warm tones, in a classic or contemporary style.

History and origin

It is a marble of Turkish origin whose name recalls the colour burgundy; it is widely available on the international market in slabs and tiles. It is used mainly indoors, often combined with light marbles for decorated floors. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is dark red tending towards burgundy, crossed by white and pinkish veins, fine or net-like. The intensity of the red and the density of the veins vary from slab to slab. Polished, it has a deep, glossy colour; honed, it looks darker and velvety.

FAQ

Ege Bordo or Elazig Cherry: what is the difference?

Both are Turkish reds veined with white; Ege Bordo tends towards a darker, wine-like tone, Elazig Cherry towards a brighter cherry red. It is best to compare the slabs.

Is it suitable for an entire floor?

Yes indoors, although it is often used in combination with light marbles so as not to make the room feel heavy.

Can it be used outdoors?

It is not recommended: weathering and acid rain tend to dull and lighten red marbles.
