G682 Granite: complete guide
G682 is a Chinese granite in yellow-ochre tones, often called rusty yellow because of its rustic colour. It is chosen to bring warmth to paving and façades with the resistance of a granite.
History and origin
It belongs to the family of Chinese granites identified by a numerical code and is very widespread in construction and exteriors. Its warm colour comes from iron oxides present in the rock. It is frequently used in gardens, squares, cladding and rustic-style worktops. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The golden yellow or ochre background shows grey and black crystals and lighter or more reddish hues. The tone varies between slabs and batches, from straw yellow to rust. Polished, it has more saturated colours, while flamed it looks lighter and warmer.

Care and maintenance
Outdoors, periodic washing is enough; a water-repellent impregnating sealer helps limit dirt and moss. In the kitchen, protect the surface and remove oil stains promptly.

Yes, it is due to the iron oxides present in the stone. This is why the tone can vary slightly between batches.

It goes better with warm or rustic settings, but combined with white plaster and dark metals it can also work in a contemporary style.
