Perlino Rosato: the complete guide
Perlino Rosato is a compact limestone with a soft pink background and a fine, speckled texture. It is chosen to bring discreet warmth to floors, stairs and cladding.
History and origin
It is a commercial marble widely available on the Italian market, belonging to the 'perlino' family of fine-grained limestones much used in construction. Its pinkish tone made it common in floors, steps, thresholds and windowsills. Today it is being rediscovered in projects looking for soft, natural colours. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is pale pink or light salmon, with a fine lighter speckling and occasional darker patches or stylolites. The slabs have similar shades, but some areas may tend towards beige. Polished, it looks warm and silky; honed or bush-hammered, lighter and more natural.

FAQ
Is Perlino Rosato a marble or a stone?
Geologically it is a compact limestone; commercially it is classified as a marble because it takes a polish and is worked as such.
Can it be used for outdoor thresholds and windowsills?
Yes, it is a traditional use. Honed or bush-hammered finishes and a water-repellent treatment are preferable.
How can pink be used in a modern project?
With white or sand walls, natural woods and dark metals, soft pink becomes a warm accent without looking dated.
How do I order it?
Ask us for a quote specifying the elements (tiles, steps, thresholds) and the dimensions; on request we send photos and samples.
