History and origin
It takes its name from Sarrancolin, a village in the French Pyrenees, and is one of the best-known French marbles of the classical age. It was historically used in residences and palaces for columns, pillars, fireplaces and cladding. Today it is a rare material, available in limited quantities. Look and veining
The surface is a breccia of red, grey, yellow and white fragments of various sizes, bound by light veins. Each slab has a unique pattern, with strong variability in colours and fragment size. Polishing makes the colours brilliant and highlights the brecciated texture.
