Rosso Diaspro marble: the complete guide

History and origin

The name recalls jasper ("diaspro"), a red hardstone used since antiquity. In Sicily red stones of this kind starred in the famous "marmi mischi" of Baroque churches, polychrome inlays of great refinement. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

A bright red background, from coral to blood red, with lighter or darker mottling, veins and patches. Polished it has a brilliant, precious effect.
