Port Laurent: the complete guide
Port Laurent is a black marble with golden and brown veins, often accompanied by white bands, with a strong decorative impact. It is appreciated for walls, bathrooms and furnishings where a warm, refined black is wanted.
History and origin
It is an imported material widely available on the international market, often considered as an alternative to other gold-veined blacks such as Noir Saint Laurent or Portoro. It is used in hotels, boutiques and residences for prestigious cladding and tops. Its bold pattern lends itself to highly striking compositions. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The black background is crossed by golden, ochre and brown veins, with white bands or lines that accentuate its movement. The slabs are very different from one another and allow high-impact bookmatched compositions. Polished, it has a brilliant contrast; honed, it looks more matt and warm.
