Verde São Francisco Granite: complete guide

Verde São Francisco is a dark green Brazilian granite with black crystals and golden highlights. It is a resistant stone with a deep colour, widely used for worktops.

History and origin

It comes from Brazil and is one of the dark green granites that have long been on the international market. It is sold mainly as polished slabs for kitchen worktops, bathrooms and cladding. It is often offered as an alternative to other Brazilian greens such as Ubatuba. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The dark green background shows black and grey-green crystals and gold-coloured grains, with a medium to coarse grain. The pattern is fairly uniform, with variations between slabs in the density of the light crystals. Polishing makes it deep and glossy, while brushing gives it a matt, textured look.

Recommended for kitchen worktops, islands, counters, bathrooms and floors. It is also used outdoors for cladding and paving with an anti-slip finish.

Care and maintenance

It is an undemanding material: a neutral detergent for cleaning and a light protector on kitchen worktops. On dark polished surfaces it is advisable to dry off water to avoid limescale marks.

FAQ

What is the difference from Verde Ubatuba?

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

Yes, it stands up well to water and detergents; a polished finish is the easiest to clean.

Can I use it for an outdoor table?
