Yule is a fine-grained white American marble, quarried in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It is chosen for its luminous white and its historic value in American architecture.
History and origin
It comes from the area around the small town of Marble, Colorado, where it is extracted from an underground quarry. It is known for having been used in the Lincoln Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington. Production is limited and availability in Europe is low, so supply must be checked each time. Marmi di Carrara can check its availability on request.
Look and veining
The background is pure white, with a fine grain and grey or golden veins that are more or less present depending on the selection. The finest qualities are almost free of veining, while others show a light pattern. Polishing gives a luminous white, honing a velvety look.

Recommended uses
It is suitable for wall cladding, interior floors, bathrooms, sculpture and furnishing elements. In the kitchen, like any calcitic marble, it is sensitive to acids. Because of its cost and availability it lends itself mainly to targeted or restoration projects.
Care and maintenance
Protect with a stain-proofing product for light-coloured marbles. Clean with neutral detergents and wipe up coffee, wine and oil stains immediately. Avoid acidic products and limescale removers.
Pairings

FAQ
Is Yule similar to Carrara marble?
Both are white calcitic marbles; Yule has a fine grain and its own tones, and the choice depends on availability, cost and project. Apuan whites are generally easier to source in Europe.
Is it available in Europe?
In limited quantities: supply must be checked case by case, with import lead times to be taken into account.
Can it be used in the bathroom?
Yes, for cladding, floors and vanity tops, with a protector and neutral cleaning products.
