Bayerwald Rosa Granite: complete guide

Bayerwald Rosa is a pink-toned granite from the Bavarian Forest. It combines the robustness typical of granite with a warm colour that is less common among Central European granites.

History and origin

The name recalls the Bayerischer Wald, the mountainous area on the border with the Czech Republic where granite quarrying has ancient roots. Granites from the area are traditionally used for building, paving, street furniture and memorial work. The pinkish varieties are chosen when a warmer tone than the classic greys is wanted. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background alternates pinkish feldspars, translucent grey quartz and dark specks of mica. The pattern is granular and fairly regular, but the intensity of the pink can change from one block to another. Polished, the colour comes alive; flamed, it appears lighter and matt.

Recommended uses

It is used for floors, steps, façade cladding, kerbs, fountains and kitchen worktops. Outdoors it is suitable even for areas with harsh winters. For large surfaces it is best to select the slabs to even out the shade.

Care and maintenance

Cleaning with neutral detergents is enough; in the kitchen a stain-proofing protector renewed periodically is advisable. Avoid strong concentrated acids, which can dull the polish over time.

Pairings

  • Walnut and sand-coloured textiles
  • Satin brass or bronze
  • Dark grey granite for bands and surrounds

FAQ

Is the pink colour uniform across the whole supply?

Not entirely: being a natural material, the shade varies between blocks. For extensive floors we recommend approving the slabs from photos before processing.

Can it be used for ventilated façades?

Yes, it is a compact granite resistant to weathering; thicknesses and fixings must be defined by the designer.

Which finish should I choose for a garden path?

Flamed or bush-hammered, which offer good grip even in rain. Polished is preferable for interiors and tops.

How do I order it?

Write to us with quantities, formats and finish: we will prepare a quote and, if available, photos of the slabs or samples.
