Guide

Finike White: the complete guide

Finike White is a Turkish white marble from the province of Antalya. It is chosen for bright, refined interiors, as an alternative to the better-known whites.

History and origin

Turkey is today one of the world's leading marble exporters, with numerous quarrying areas in Anatolia and the Mediterranean regions. The name recalls Finike, a coastal town in the province of Antalya. Finike White is sold on the international market in slabs and tiles. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is white, with possible light warm or grey nuances and a generally delicate pattern. The presence of veins or spots may vary between blocks, so it is useful to assess the slabs before choosing. Polished, it is bright and reflective; honed, it has a softer, matt white.

Recommended uses

Suitable for indoor floors, wall cladding, bathrooms, stairs and furnishings. On kitchen worktops it should be used knowingly, because acids and stains leave marks. Outdoors it can be used for cladding in mild climates, but the white tends to turn grey with weathering.

Care and maintenance

Treat with a stain-proofing product specific to white marbles that does not yellow. Use only neutral detergents and wipe up coloured liquids. To restore the shine over time, professional polishing can be used.

Pairings

  • black or dark grey marble for inserts and bands
  • light oak
  • brushed gold taps

FAQ

Does Finike White turn yellow?

White marble can yellow if treated with unsuitable products or if it absorbs dirt. With neutral detergents and appropriate protectors it keeps its colour.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

Yes, it is a classic choice for cladding, vanity tops and floors. Avoid acidic limescale removers, which dull the surface.

How does it differ from a Carrara white?

They are marbles of different origin: Carrara white has a characteristic background and veining, while Finike White has its own tone and pattern. The comparison should be made on samples.
