History and origin
It comes from Brazil and is one of the best-known light veined granites in international trade. Geologically it is one of the veined metamorphic rocks sold as granites. It is used mainly for kitchen and bathroom tops, where it offers a resistant alternative to white marbles. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is greyish white, with dark grey or brown veins and patches and scattered burgundy garnets. Slabs vary in vein density and the presence of darker areas. Polishing gives depth and contrast; honing makes it softer and closer to the look of a light matt stone.

Recommended uses
Excellent for kitchen worktops, islands, bathroom tops and interior floors. It can also be used outdoors with a suitable finish; as with other light granites, it is best to check the batch for possible oxidation of iron-bearing minerals.
Care and maintenance
Given the light background, an oil-repellent protector and prompt cleaning of oils and coloured liquids are recommended. Neutral detergents are sufficient for daily maintenance.
