History and origin
Norway is known for its schistose quartzites, often quarried in natural cleft slabs and used in Nordic architecture. Bjørnevann is a niche material bearing a Norwegian name. Like all quartzites, it combines natural aesthetics with great durability. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is grey with silvery highlights due to the presence of mica. The surface may show slight layering and lighter or darker shadings. The natural cleft finish enhances the highlights, while honing gives a more uniform look.
