Raumünzach Granite: complete guide

Raumünzach granite is a grey granite from the Black Forest, in Baden-Württemberg. It is chosen for paving and stonework that require solidity and a natural appearance.

History and origin

Raumünzach is in the northern Black Forest, an area where granite has long been a resource for local building. Granites from the region have traditionally been used for walls, steps, kerbs and rural buildings. Today the material is also used in landscaping and street furniture. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The grey background is composed of light feldspars, quartz and dark mica in a medium-coarse grain. The size of the crystals and the presence of small patches may vary from one slab to another. Bush-hammered or point-tooled, it has a rustic look; polished, it is more contrasted.
