White Pearl Granite: the complete guide

White Pearl Granite is a light granite, pearl white and grey, with fine dark speckles. It is chosen when you want a bright surface that is as durable as a granite.

History and origin

It is an imported granite widely available on the international market, appreciated as a practical alternative to white marbles. Compared with these it offers greater hardness and acid resistance, while keeping a light, neutral appearance. It is used for kitchens, bathrooms, floors and cladding. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is pearl white with grey grains and small black spots evenly distributed. Slight shading or darker veins may appear, varying from block to block. Polished gives luminosity and a pearly effect, while honed and flamed finishes make the surface more matt and lighter.

Recommended uses

Recommended for kitchen worktops, bathroom tops, floors, stairs, thresholds and cladding, including outdoors. Being light, it should be protected from oils and strong pigments, which can leave marks on some slabs.

Care and maintenance

Apply a stain-proofing impregnator after installation and renew it when water no longer beads. Daily cleaning with a neutral detergent. Remove oils, coffee and wine promptly to avoid absorption into the lighter grains.

Pairings

  • natural oak
  • stainless steel and black handles
  • light grey or sage green tiles

FAQ

Is it better than white marble in the kitchen?

For everyday use yes: it is harder and unaffected by lemon and vinegar. Aesthetically it is more speckled and less veined than a white marble.

Does it stain, being light?

With a good impregnator the risk is low; without protection, oils and coloured liquids left for a long time can mark the light grains.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes, it is frost-resistant; for outdoor floors, flamed or bush-hammered finishes are chosen, which also look lighter.
