History and origin
It comes from Brazil and is among the most widespread brown granites in international trade. Its uniform colour has made it suitable for residential work as well as public works and exterior cladding. It is available in slabs and standard formats. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is brown with reddish tones, speckled with black crystals and lighter grains. The pattern is homogeneous and variability between slabs is low. Polishing gives an intense, glossy brown; flaming lightens it to a matt pinkish brown.

Recommended uses
Suitable for floors, stairs, kitchen worktops, window sills and façade cladding. It is a good choice for high-traffic spaces and for exteriors with an anti-slip finish.
Care and maintenance
It requires little maintenance: neutral detergents and, on worktops, a periodic stain-repellent treatment. The dark colour hides small marks and dust well.
Pairings
- chestnut or Italian walnut
- sand-coloured walls
- wrought iron and burnished brass
FAQ
Is it suitable for a commercial floor?
Yes, its hardness and uniformity make it suitable for shops and public spaces with heavy traffic.
Polished or flamed outdoors?
Outdoors choose flamed or bush-hammered: polished becomes slippery in the rain.
Does dust show on the kitchen worktop?
Less than on black or light granites: the speckled brown camouflages dust and crumbs well.
