Onice Fantastico is an onyx with a highly dynamic pattern, with sinuous bands that mix warm and cool tones. It is designed for those who want an artistic surface, almost a natural painting.
History and origin
The trade name emphasises the dramatic character of the material rather than its origin. The irregular bands formed through layered deposition of calcite, with continuous variations in minerals and conditions. Such dynamic varieties are used in design projects, boutiques and hotels. Look and veining
The pattern alternates curves, swirls and bands of changing thickness, with colours that vary according to the batch. No two slabs are alike, and the arrangement should be studied at the design stage. Polishing intensifies colours and contrasts, honing softens them.

How do you choose the right slab?
With such a variable material it is essential to see the actual slabs, in person or in high-resolution photos, and to decide the cut according to the pattern.
Can it be used for an entire bathroom?
It can, but the result risks being very busy. Often a single wall or the washbasin top is done in Onice Fantastico and the rest in a neutral stone.
Which finishes are available?
The most common are polished and honed; polished is the one that best brings out transparency and colours. Rustic finishes such as bush-hammering are not suitable for an onyx.
