Emerald Onyx: the complete guide
Emerald Onyx is a deep green onyx with lighter bands, recalling the colour of the precious stone it is named after. It is chosen to create focal points of strong character, especially with backlighting.
History and origin
Green onyxes are available on the international market in several varieties, with shades ranging from apple green to forest green. The colour comes from small quantities of minerals present during the formation of the calcareous layers. It is a material chosen for prestigious interiors, bars and restaurants, and design bathrooms. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The background is bright green with wavy bands fading into light green, white and sometimes honey. Intensity and pattern vary greatly from one block to another, so it is important to choose the slabs in person or from photos. Polishing increases the saturation of the green, while a honed finish makes it softer and more natural.

FAQ
Is it the same material as Green Pakistan Onyx?
Both are green onyxes, but the trade name often indicates different shades and patterns: Emerald tends towards a more saturated and uniform green. Since names vary between suppliers, it is worth comparing the actual slabs.
What effect does it give when backlit?
Light accentuates the bands and makes the green appear deeper and more brilliant, with almost transparent areas. It is widely used for counters and walls in bars and lounges.
Which thickness should I choose?
For walls and cladding 2 cm is usually used, often with a mesh on the back; for tops and washbasins 3 cm or bonding to a backing can be considered. The choice depends on spans and supports.
How do I order it?
It is available on request: send us dimensions and fabrication details and you will receive a quote and photos of the slabs, so you can choose the intensity of green you prefer.
