Guide

Rosa Zarci: the complete guide

Rosa Zarci is a light pink Spanish marble, with delicate veining and a bright background. It is chosen for bathrooms and interiors with a refined, warm feel.

History and origin

It comes from the Murcia region, in south-eastern Spain, an area which, together with Alicante, accounts for a significant share of Spanish marble production. The pink and cream marbles of this area have been exported for decades for floors and cladding. Rosa Zarci is one of its pinkish shades. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The light pink background, sometimes tending towards salmon or cream, is crossed by lighter or deeper pink veins. The pattern is variable, with uniform areas and others more veined, and changes between slabs from the same lot. Polishing enhances the pinkish nuances; honing gives a soft, velvety look.

FAQ

Can it be used in a shower?

Yes, preferably honed and with non-acidic detergents; limescale should be removed with products specific to marble, never with ordinary limescale removers.

How does it differ from Rosa Portogallo?

Rosa Portogallo is a Portuguese crystalline marble with a softer pink; Rosa Zarci has a more compact background and different veining. Tone and pattern are best assessed on a sample.

Which finish should I choose for the floor?

Honed is more practical because it hides scratches and signs of use better; polished is more elegant but requires more care.

How do I order it?
