History and origin

The Šluknov area, on the border with Saxony, is part of a geological district rich in granitoid rocks that have been used for centuries in local building. Materials of this type are used for paving, kerbs, steps and cladding. It is a stone with mainly regional distribution, now also available for projects abroad. Look and veining

The background is medium grey, sometimes verging on dark, with a medium-fine grain and widespread dark minerals. The pattern is uniform, with moderate variation between slabs. Flamed, it appears light grey and matt; polished, it gains depth.

Recommended uses

Suitable for urban paving, squares, pavements, stairs and cladding. Indoors it works for floors and worktops. It is a technical rather than decorative choice: for striking effects there are more lively granites.

Care and maintenance

Wash with water and a neutral detergent; outdoors, a water-repellent treatment if required. Remove oils and grease from polished surfaces promptly.
