Striato Elegante: the complete guide
Striato Elegante is a marble with dense, parallel stripes in shades of grey, from pearl white to smoke grey. It is chosen by those who want an orderly but not monotonous pattern.
History and origin
It is an imported marble available on the international market and belonging to the category of striped marbles. Its regular veining makes it suitable for modern projects, where the stone interacts with essential lines. It is used mainly for interior cladding and floors. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.
Look and veining
The surface shows thin lines alternating with wider bands, with gradual transitions between shades of grey. The orientation of the stripes depends on how the block is cut and can be exploited to give continuity between floor and wall. Matt finishes soften the contrast, polished accentuates it.

Yes, by choosing slabs from the same block with the veining oriented in the same direction, a very elegant continuous effect is obtained.
Is it suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes, like most marbles it conducts heat well; it must be laid with suitable adhesives and joints.
Which thickness should be chosen?
For floors and cladding usually 2 cm; for wall tiles 1 cm is also possible, while for tops and stairs 2 or 3 cm is considered.
