History and origin
It takes its name from Buxy, in Burgundy, in the Saône-et-Loire department. It is a compact limestone that also takes a polish, available in several varieties of tone, from the lightest to the most amber. It is valued for floors, street furniture and refined interiors. Look and veining
The background is beige with pinkish or amber nuances, speckled with small fossils and thin veins. The tones vary according to the variety and the bed. Polishing intensifies the warm colours, honing makes them more delicate, while bush-hammering and sandblasting lighten them.
