Noisette Fleury
Guide

Noisette Fleury: the complete guide

Noisette Fleury is a compact hazelnut-coloured limestone, fine-grained and calm in appearance. It is chosen for interior floors and fabricated pieces with a warm, understated tone.

History and origin

It is an imported limestone, commercially classified among marbles for its ability to take a polish. It has limited availability and small to medium-sized blocks, and for this reason it is one of Marmi di Carrara's exclusive materials. It is traditionally used for floors, cladding, fireplaces and furnishings. Marmi di Carrara supplies it on request.

Look and veining

The background is light hazelnut with beige and pinkish hues. The texture is fine, with small patches, speckles and sometimes fossil traces; variation between slabs is limited. It can be produced in many finishes: polished intensifies the colour, while brushed, sandblasted and bush-hammered finishes lighten it and give a more rustic touch.

Recommended uses

Recommended for interior floors and cladding, bathrooms, washbasins, bathtubs, fireplaces, stairs and tables; also available as solid pieces, calibrated tiles and lightweight panels. Outdoor use should be assessed case by case.

Care and maintenance

Clean with neutral products for limestone and avoid acids and limescale removers. A water- and oil-repellent treatment limits absorption and stains. Honed and brushed finishes are the easiest to maintain over time.

Pairings

  • Nero Marquina for bands and chequerboards
  • chestnut wood
  • burnished iron and bronze details

FAQ

Is Noisette Fleury a marble or a stone?

Geologically it is a limestone, but commercially it is classified among marbles because it is compact and takes a polish well.
