History and origin

It comes from Yorkshire, in the north of England, where magnesian limestones are traditionally used as building stone for historic and religious buildings. The presence of dolomite distinguishes it from the oolitic limestones of the south of the country. It is used for masonry, decorative elements, floors and conservation work. Look and veining

The background is warm cream with honey nuances, a fine grain and a fairly uniform appearance. Small cavities, specks and slight variations in tone between blocks may appear. A honed finish is soft and matt; sandblasted or chiselled, it has a more traditional look.

Recommended uses

It is suitable for cladding, exposed masonry, cornices, columns and interior floors. For outdoor paving exposed to frost and for kitchen work surfaces, more compact stones are preferable.

Care and maintenance

Clean with water and neutral detergents, avoiding high-pressure washers on exterior surfaces. A breathable water repellent helps limit dirt and biological films on façades.
